Ready to Host Your Own Activity? Here’s How to Make It a Great One

Thinking about creating your first Meet5 activity but not sure where to start? You’re in the right place. We’ve put together 10 simple tips to help you host a great meeting—from title to follow-through. Once you try it, we’re pretty sure you’ll want to do it again.

Let’s get into it 👇

1. Pick a Clear, Catchy Title ✍️

Your title is the first thing people see—so make it short and specific. “Hike in the hills,” “Trivia & Tapas,” or “Brunch at the Market” work great. The app will offer suggestions too, but feel free to write your own if it fits better.

2. Keep the Description Simple (but Useful) 🕮

This is where you set the scene. Let people know what to expect:

  • What’s the plan?

  • Is there a cost (tickets, entry, etc)?

  • Where’s the meeting point, and is anything worth noting?

  • If it’s a hike, how long or how challenging?

A few sentences is all it takes to help people feel prepared.

3. Be Clear About the Meeting Point 📍

Choose a meeting spot that’s easy to find, like a restaurant, park, or specific address. If the app doesn’t list your exact spot, just write it clearly in the description (bonus points for adding a landmark or link). A little clarity goes a long way.

4. Choose a Date and Time That Works 🕒

Pick a time when others are likely free, think evenings or weekends. Try not to change it after the activity is created, but if you must, let people know in the group chat right away so no one’s left out.

5. Keep an Eye on the Weather ☀️

Planning something outdoors? Check the forecast and keep your group in the loop. If you need to reschedule, just communicate early and clearly in the chat.

6. Use the Group Chat 💬

The group chat is there for a reason! It’s where you can answer questions, say hi, or remind everyone of the details. A quick message can make the whole thing feel more personal and relaxed.

7. Send Out Invitations 📬

Want more people to find your activity? Use the invite feature. You can filter by tags (like “hiking” or “board games”) and send invites to people who might be interested. No pressure—just a friendly heads-up.

8. Can’t Make It? Let Them Know 🛎️

Life happens, and sometimes you have to cancel. If that’s the case, give your group a heads-up in the chat so they can adjust plans—or keep the activity going without you.

9. Update Your Profile 💯

People like to see who they’re meeting. Make sure your profile photo is clear and friendly, and your info reflects who you are. No need to overthink it—just be yourself.

10. Most Importantly… Have Fun! 🥳

That’s really what it’s all about. It’s normal to feel a little nervous before your first group meeting, but once you’re there, it gets easier, and way more fun, than you’d expect. We hear great stories every day. Yours could be next.

Ready to give it a try? Create your first activity, invite a few friendly faces, and enjoy the moment. We’ll see you out there.
