Meet5 Premium Update: Private chats are now even easier with read receipts

Sometimes it’s the little things in chat that make organizing plans easier and help conversations feel smoother. In private chats, it can be helpful to know whether and when a message has been read. That’s exactly why read receipts for private chats are now officially part of our Premium membership*. 👑


What’s new?

If you have a Premium membership, the feature is automatically active in all private chats. That means you can see right away whether and when your message has been read, making conversations easier to follow without unnecessary follow-ups or guessing. Group chats stay the same and continue to help with keeping meetup planning organized. 🔎


There’s also now a new setting that lets you easily control read receipts for private chats. By default, it’s turned on, so you can start using the feature right away. Read receipts only show up when they’re active for both people in the chat. So if either chat partner turns off read receipts for private chats, the feature won’t work for either of you.


Benefits of read receipts in everyday app use:

  • More clarity in chat: You can see whether and when a message has been read.

  • Less friction when making plans: Coordinating meetups feels smoother, especially right before the event starts.

  • More peace of mind: You don’t have to overthink messages and can focus on what Meet5 is really about: real, relaxed connections.


For anyone who previously bought read receipts as a one-time purchase, we want to keep things fair: any remaining read receipts you already purchased will stay available and can still be used. However, new one-time purchases are no longer possible.
