WELCOME ABOARD, CAPTAIN!
We're so glad you're here!
Here's some information to get you started.
Feel free to bookmark this page to come back to later.
How To Be An Awesome Captain
-
You organize 2 to 4 activities per month.
-
If you hear member feedback, pass it on to us so we can help! You don't need to handle conflicts, that's our job.
-
Take group pictures at your activities to share in the chat afterwards! If members agree, send us the photos too :)
-
If someone is having a great experience on the app, suggest they review it. This helps more awesome people join the community.
-
You can recommend Premium memberships to people who are getting a lot out of the app. (Psst: we can give them two weeks free to try it out!)
Captains Community Guidelines
-
Commercial activities and sales of any kind, including ticket sales, are not allowed. This especially applies to captains, who are role models.
-
Only block other members with good reason.
-
Part of being a Captain is welcoming new members, so please don't organize invitation-only activities.
-
Avoid conflict with other members. Escalate to us and we'll handle it!
Tips for Organizing Activities
-
Make sure being a Captain is fun for you, too! Take it easy and don't stress.
-
You don't need to plan big events. 12 is a comfortable upper limit. Even if your activities are in demand, you don't need to create multiple groups.
-
Your activity, your call. For example, If someone asks to bring their partner who doesn't have a Meet5 profile, feel free to say no.
-
If tickets need to be purchased for an activity, do not pay in advance for others. They can buy their own. (If there is an activity which requires group purchase, reach out to the Meet5 team for advice.)
-
Help other members use the group chat. It's for logistical planning, not long discussions. Save that for the activity!
-
Make your activity descriptions short and clear. It saves unnecessary questions and confusion later on.
This is what a successful captain profile includes:
Please take a few minutes to complete your profile fully!
Profile Photo
Four photos in which you are easily recognizable. Include some photos with your Meet5 merch when it arrives
Bio
A brief description introducing yourself and your interests. Include why you become a Captain.
Occupation
Add your real-life profession, so people get a glimpse of who you are, not just a Meet5 Captain.
Interests
Choose a few specific interests and traits to describe yourself with to attract similar people to your activities.
Meet5 Team to Community Captains Correspondence
Once we reach 20-30 US Captains, we'll set up a private communications platform.
For now, please text or call us at the number given in your Captain Call, or email us at captains@meet5.com.
Perks of Being a Captain
For your efforts as Meet5 captain, you will receive the following from us:
-
A free Premium membership, initially for 6 months. If you want to remain captain after that, just email us. Then we will extend your membership for free.
-
A captain's badge on your profile, so you can be recognized as an official captain.

-
As a thank-you for being a Meet5 Captain, we’ll send you a welcome gift with Meet5 goodies. Think a Meet5 hoodie or t-shirt.
-
You’ll also be the first to know about any app updates or new features. As a Captain, it’s important to us that you’re always in the loop and feeling confident about what’s new. 😊
