At Meet5, thousands of activities happen every month, bringing lots of people together in real life. What makes that possible is you — our amazing, reliable community 💛 To make that reliability more visible and to celebrate it, we’re introducing a new “Dependable” badge.
This new feature helps show which members have consistently been dependable in the past. It builds trust when planning, gives active members the recognition they deserve, and sends a clear message: showing up matters âś…
Why we’re launching this
Our goal is to help as many people as possible connect in real life through Meet5. When spots stay empty because of last-minute cancellations or no-shows, it’s frustrating for organizers and unfair to people who would’ve loved to join.
That’s why we created this badge. It’s meant to:
Recognize reliability:Â Members who show up regularly and can be counted on can display this badge on their profile.
Make planning easier: People can quickly see that they’re joining a group of dependable members.
Encourage fairness:Â We want to support a culture where canceling in time is the norm, so someone else can take the spot.
How the dependability statistics work
You’ll get the Dependable badge if your profile meets these conditions:
Your attendance rate at activities is 90%
Your timely cancellation rate (courtesy rate) — meaning you cancel at least 8 hours before an activity starts — is above 75%
You’ve had at least 5 completed activities
You’ll see the badge on member profiles next to other familiar labels like “verified” or “creator.” You can also find your own dependability stats in your profile settings 📊
A few important points
Life happens. A flat tire or getting sick shouldn’t define anyone. The system is designed to be forgiving and looks at the overall pattern, not perfection 🤝
Your stats stay private. The badge is visible as recognition, but your detailed numbers are only visible to you 🔒
The 8-hour rule helps protect the community. If someone cancels too late, the spot is often too hard to fill. This rule helps keep meet-ups fair and active.
Whether new here or been around for a while - everyone starts on the same footing. No one is judged for the past. The 5 completed activities requirement is just a simple milestone that applies to everyone 🌱
We’d love to hear your feedback, and we hope you keep enjoying Meet5 ✨
Feel free to check out the new feature in the app.
